Our approach
Four things that shape the classroom.
English as the working language
Teaching is in English throughout, so children become comfortable using it — not only translating into it. Reading aloud, discussion and written work all carry equal weight.
Foundations before speed
Reading, number sense and handwriting are given the time they need in the early years. Moving on before a foundation is secure creates gaps that are far harder to close later.
Practical science
The school maintains physics, chemistry and biology laboratories. Students carry out experiments themselves rather than reading about them.
Attention to the individual
Teachers are expected to know which children in a class are struggling, and to act on it — not to discover it at the end of a term.
